Ann Merriam Feinberg Elected to Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition Board of Directors

The Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition (PRWC) is extremely pleased to announce that Ann Merriam Feinberg has joined its Board of Directors. Ann is counsel at Connecticut Community Foundation. She was a trustee on the Foundation's board from 2000 - 2005, joined the staff as director of outreach and development in 2005 and served as vice president from 2012-2014. Ann has worked in development for over 20 years, as director of advancement at St. Margaret’s-McTernan School (now Chase Collegiate School), director of development at the University of Connecticut School of Law, and director of planned giving at Wesleyan University, as well as serving as a planned giving/development consultant for several nonprofits.

Ann serves on the board of directors of Gift of Adoption CT, Friends of the Middlebury Library, and Connecticut Estate and Tax Planning Council and on the UMass Political Science Department Advisory Council and the Women’s Business Development Council’s Naugatuck Valley Advisory Board. She remains very involved with Simply Smiles, a nonprofit dedicated to building bright futures while improving the daily lives of impoverished children, where she served on the board for 6 years and has volunteered in Oaxaca, Mexico and the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation in South Dakota. She is a member of the board of directors of Ion Bank and Ion Bank Foundation and on the board of trustees of Ion Financial MHC.

John Lacadie, PRWC Board Chairman, emphasized that “in electing Ann to the Board of Directors we are welcoming an individual with the highest credentials and capabilities and a person who is readily recognized for her decades of volunteer support while truly making a difference for so many people.” He went on to say “that PRWC will benefit immensely from her leadership experience and ‘can do’ approach to whatever lies before her.”

Before she began her career in development, Ann graduated from UCONN Law School and practiced law in New Haven and Waterbury, concentrating in estate planning. Prior to practicing law, she was an elementary school teacher for 17 years in Connecticut, North Carolina, Hawaii, and Massachusetts. Commenting on her election to the PRWC Board, Ann underscored “that PRWC is recognized locally and nationally for its use of science and research together with educational outreach to promote the protection of water resources. Marc Taylor introduced me to this wonderful organization nearly 10 years ago and we have been supporters since then. I am delighted to join PRWC board as a steward for our environment.”

Ann has two grown children and lives with her husband, Michael, in Middlebury.
