Join us in welcoming this year’s 2020 season of Youth Conservation Corps members. This year we have two Dr. Marc Taylor interns acting as crew leaders and two Youth Conservation Corps crew members.
Naomi Robert is a recent graduate of University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources and will be one of our Dr. Marc Taylor interns. She is particularly interested in water resources and is excited to bring her skills in surface and groundwater monitoring to the PRWC this summer. For years, Naomi has volunteered with White Memorial Conservation Center assisting with research and caring for rehabilitated wildlife. In her spare time, she enjoys a variety of outdoor activities from horseback riding, skiing, to hiking.
Dillon Larkin, our second Dr. Marc Taylor intern, has just completed his first year at St. Lawrence University where he is pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering. As a past crew member of the YCC, Dillon has become familiar with PRWC and its mission through invasive plant removal, storm drain marking, rain barrel workshops, and trailblazing. Dillon enjoys playing golf in his free time and umpires youth baseball games.
Selana Kurutan will be one of our two YCC crew members this summer. As a rising junior at Westover School, Selana is interested in learning more about the environment in her community and how she can improve our natural spaces. Her interest in the environment was sparked through an internship program in Quebec where she participated in electrofishing and invasive plant removal.
Hannah Pryor is a rising senior at Nonnewaug High School in the agriscience program and will be a crew member in the YCC. She is interested in going to college to study natural resource management and wildlife conservation. With her outdoor work and equestrian barn assistant experience, Hannah is ready to jump into our Youth Conservation Corps season!
The Dr. Marc J. Taylor Internships and Youth Conservation Corps Program are funded in part through generous grants including one from Connecticut Community Foundation, and supported by donors like you. Thank you.
