Dr. Marc J. Taylor Internship

PRWC is accepting applications from undergraduate and graduate students pursuing environmental careers for its Dr. Marc Taylor Internship position. This prestigious environmental student internship was established in 2013 in memory of PRWC’s cofounder, Dr. Taylor (1937-2012). In addition to stewarding environmental resources
at the local, state, and national level, Dr. Taylor was particularly eager to foster the
same passion in those preparing to be the stewards of the future.

The Intern will serve as an ambassador of PRWC for the 2022 summer season. Projects  will protect and enhance natural resources in the Pomperaug Watershed communities. Projects may include but are not limited to water quality sampling, streamwalk surveys, river clean-ups, riparian habitat improvement, invasive species removal, erosion mitigation, stormdrain marker installation, culvert assessments and more.  Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until March 1, 2022 or until position is filled. Please see the  2022 ANNOUNCEMENT & APPLICATION.

Youth Conservation Corps - Team Members

PRWC’s Youth Conservation Corps work  together  outdoors for six weeks during the summer on projects that protect and enhance natural resources in the Pomperaug Watershed communities. YCC projects may include but are not limited to water quality sampling, streamwalk surveys, river clean-ups, community outreach, riparian habitat improvement, invasive species removal, erosion mitigation, stormdrain marker installation, culvert assessments and more.

Crew members are selected through a competitive application process to work under a trained leadership team. Members must be willing to meet the mental and physical challenges of working in the outdoors by demonstrating maturity, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic. A commitment to the environment and to their local communities is essential.

Members will serve as ambassadors of PRWC, whose mission is to ensure the availability of high quality water in the Pomperaug Watershed communities for future generations. Youth Conservation Corps Team Member applications for 2022 are forthcoming.
