PROTECT YOUR WATERSHED

The Pomperaug Watershed is known for its clean rivers and streams and its high-quality drinking water supplies. And we need to work together to keep it that way. There are two ways our rivers, streams, lakes, wetlands, and groundwater gets dirty:

    POINT SOURCE POLLUTION (aka “direct discharges”)
    NON-POINT SOURCE POLLUTION (everything else, aka “polluted runoff”)

But, don't despair - CLEAN WATER STARTS WITH YOU! - Keeping our waters clean (or cleaning them up) is up to everyone. It’s kind of like recycling: If just one person does it, no big deal, but if everyone does it, it makes a big difference!
