With help from 10 dedicated Thule volunteers, we were able to pull 6,000lbs of invasive water chestnut from Lake Stibbs in Southbury last Thursday! We're so thankful to the volunteers that joined us this year, this paddle and pull was the largest we've ever had in one day! All together, we collected 232 bushels of water chestnut, which contributes to our ongoing efforts of clearing Lake Stibbs of invasive water chestnut and protecting water quality and safe recreation downstream in the Pomperaug River and Lake Zoar.

Come join us on our future paddle and pulls, where you can help us clear our waterways and contribute to much needed watershed conservation efforts. You can BYOB (bring your own boat), we allow kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. You can also use one of ours! Please register at pomperaug.org/events in advance so we have enough gloves, boats, baskets, and snacks.
