SOUTHBURY – Len DeJong, executive director of the Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition, spoke at two public hearings held in Southbury on the discussions that Town of Southbury officials and PRWC have had with Connecticut Water Service Inc. (CWC) for the planning required for future protection of local water resources should CWC acquire Heritage Village Water Co. DeJong indicated that the discussions have provided clarity on how these planning needs and corrective actions can be addressed and requested that the CT Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) include supporting language relevant to water resources should PURA's decisions approve the acquisition.
