At its Annual Meeting the Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition (PRWC) elected Curt Jones (Woodbury) and Wayne McCormack (Oxford) to its Board of Directors.
As Civil 1’s founder and president, Curt Jones has demonstrated an understanding, disposition and fortitude to effectively work with diverse groups to achieve beneficial solutions to complex land management issues. Curtis holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, Cum Laude, in Civil Engineering from the University of New Haven and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont as well as holding LEED AP accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council. When he’s not at the office, Curt can be found hiking the outdoors, playing with his grandkids, reading or flying.
Wayne McCormack is a retired sales and marketing executive. He began his sales career at American Hospital Supply, which was acquired by Baxter, a leading developer and manufacturer of medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Wayne retired from Baxter in 1990 and formed Phoenix Medical Enterprises where he remained until 2007. He was active in the Southbury community, coaching Little League and junior basketball, and serving as a member of the Finance Council at Sacred Heart Church. He is also a former trustee of the Southbury Public Library and served as Secretary of the Connecticut Community Foundation Board of Trustees.
Vince McDermott, PRWC Board Chairman, emphasized that “in electing Curt and Wayne to the Board of Directors we are welcoming individuals with the highest credentials and a demonstrated commitment to sharing their respective skill sets to strengthen their communities through volunteer support.” He went on to say “that both Curtis and Wayne are valued additions to the PRWC team and will complement our work of using science, research and educational outreach to promote the protection of our water resources.”
During the Annual Meeting the Board of Directors also re-elected Dr. Marianne Bette (Southbury) and Chris Wood (Woodbury) to serve new terms on the Board. The Board elected its slate of officers including Vince McDermott (Bethlehem) as chairman, Gail McTaggart (Southbury) as vice chair and John Lacadie (Woodbury) as secretary/ treasurer.
The Board of Directors also recognized outgoing Board members Anne Delo and Joe Eisenberg for their significant contributions to the Board and for their many years of volunteer service and environmental stewardship dedicated to the protection of the Pomperaug River water resources.
