Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition To Co-Host Local Music Event

Bluegrass Sundays at Woodbury Brewing Company

Sweetcake Mountain & Friends is back for Bluegrass Sundays at Woodbury Brewing Company. Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition (“PRWC”) will co-host Bluegrass Sunday on October 20, 2019, 5-8PM. “This no-cover, family-friendly event at the best hometown music venue in Connecticut is about more than the hard-driving mountain music we love...it's about our connection to the land and to each other. Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition is a committed steward of and fierce advocate for our community's greatest and most-under-appreciated asset- clean water. PRWC is protecting what makes our river valley beautiful and livable,” says Alan Zinser, the band’s mandolinist and Woodbury resident. Sweetcake Mountain & Friends will donate $100 to PRWC in support of our rivers and drinking water.

Allan Cetrone, one of the founders of Woodbury Brewing Company, commented, “We believe in celebrating life, community and always doing what is right—we were founded on those simple principles. We are delighted to have Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition co-host Bluegrass Sunday at Woodbury Brewing Company on October 20th.”

“We are really looking forward to co-hosting Sweetcake Mountain’s performance at the Brewery and sharing our love for the Pomperaug River with all who attend while also celebrating the work of our dedicated volunteers.” says Carol Haskins, PRWC Outreach Director.

PRWC will be at the event to share information about the organization, its programs, how to get involved as a volunteer, and other ways people can help protect our local water resources.

PRWC’s mission is to ensure plentiful high-quality water in the Pomperaug Watershed communities through the use of science and education. We share our knowledge and expertise with others committed to the protection of the vital water resources upon which we all depend. PRWC accomplishes its mission by employing the latest science to advance best management of the watershed and by creating a partnership of local governments, businesses, private individuals, scientists and environmental groups that work collaboratively to protect the health and vibrancy of the watershed.

PRWC’s programs and services include development and acquisition of scientific watershed and river data, provision of technical assistance on environmental challenges, and facilitation of educational programs. All of PRWC’s programs and activities underscore our collective roles as stewards of our environment and promote good habits to keep our watershed and rivers healthy.
