Join PRWC's executive director for a walk along the river trail at Three Rivers Park. Mr. Bjerklie has a Ph.D. degree in Earth Sciences and MS degrees in both Civil Engineering and Hydrology. He recently retired from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Water Resources Division in East Hartford, CT having served there for 18 years as a Hydrologist. Mr. Bjerklie is the author of numerous water resource related publications including his extensive research within the Pomperaug River Basin.
As he walk and talks, Dave will share a review of erosion processes, river morphology (sounds cool, right?), and ground-water and surface-water processes in the watershed. You're sure to learn something new as you enjoy all the river trail has to offer including fish jumping, birds singing, and your fellow trails day enthusiasts. Please dress for outside, wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and be prepared for nuisance bugs.
